Firestone Building Products is a multinational subsidiary of US-based tyre manufacturer, Firestone. Building on its years of expertise in the automotive and plastics industry, Firestone Building Products produces industrial insulation materials, roof coverings and finishes, and floor coverings.
To coordinate the translation of the documentation and manuals for their products, an online translation platform managed by Untranslate is used. The various production and marketing departments are granted access to online translation memories and terminology databases that they manage themselves and share with their technical specialists, translators and reviewers. This makes it possible to maintain complete control over the translation process without losing time or control. The translation memories were built using previously translated documents, while extra metadata was added to ensure that all the information can be categorised and reused as efficiently as possible.
