Are you implementing, configuring or integrating your Translation Management System? Untranslate can take care of that. Translators and proofreaders work together in real time using pre-defined workflows, efficiently supported by translation memories and term recognition.
Untranslate specialises in language technology and overcomes the challenges of multilingual communication and knowledge management. We help you analyse and define your needs, both technical and functional, selecting possible solutions and configuring applications for seamless integration and maximum process automation. Throughout the process, we pay attention to the guidance and support of the internal and external stakeholders.
Are you looking for a solution that automates translation processes so they are higher quality, cheaper, more efficient and/or faster? Or have you had enough of the opaque collaboration with your technical writer, translation agency or DTP supplier? Then take full control of your multilingual communication by implementing a Translation Management System (TMS).
Such a system ensures the translation process is transparent and as automated as possible. This is done by activating or eliminating different components, depending on the project context. The system is available as a cloud solution and works on a Software-as-a-Service basis.
Our translation technology is compatible with many file formats. This means your files can be processed immediately and you no longer need to paste the translated texts into the native documents afterwards. With this support, you not only avoid time-consuming, manual work, but also the risk of errors. This works for all MS Office formats, but also for Adobe FrameMaker, InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator etc. More file formats can be found here.
Automation of translation processes
It is possible to determine which steps the translation process will consist of in advance. You can differentiate between different project types based on parameters such as target group, content type, language direction, subject, etc. In some cases, for example, an extra revision or quality control can be added to the workflow, in other cases the translation is generated 100% automatically.
Translation memories
Translation memories are databases in which all translations are automatically stored for future reuse. In the case of a sentence that has been translated before, the saved translation is submitted to the translator as a suggestion. This saves costs and time, but also improves consistency. The content of the translation memory is also very useful for training machine translation systems (see below).
Integration with other software systems
The translation platform integrates seamlessly with other software packages such as Content Management Systems (CMS). At the start of the collaboration we will look into whether an integration is possible.
Texts are automatically sent out and retrieved via the connector, allowing the system to create new projects based on a predefined workflow. Once all process steps have been completed, translations are published immediately, without time being wasted due to data being transferred from one system to another. This avoids labour-intensive and error-prone copying and pasting. Synchronising your web content in all languages becomes feasible via the dynamic status overview in the CMS, even in the event of frequent updates.
For systems that have no ‘out-of-the-box’ integration available, we can develop a custom connector. It is also possible to synchronise with externally stored data such as TMX, TBX and various project data via a ‘bridge’.
Online collaboration environment
For important texts, internal resources (in-country proofreaders or domain experts) can validate translations. With an extremely user-friendly interface that enables real-time collaboration, even non-professional translators can do their bit to ensure the message is accurate. Like linguists, they also have access to useful features such as powerful filtering, dynamic previews, spell checking and formal QA checks (e.g. correct numbers, terminology, etc.). Of course, each project stakeholder is automatically notified when a new task has been assigned, which makes the process transparent and predictable.
Terminology
The platform has a term bank where frequent or specialised terms can be managed. When analysing a new project, it is possible to extract a list of the most frequently used terms and decide upon their translation in advance, and ideally have the translations validated. Terminologists can enrich the concepts with metadata (such as a definition, graphic material, approval status, linguistic information, etc.) so the translator also receives the context of the term. This guarantees the accuracy and consistency of the terminology used in translations.
Administration and reporting
Translation projects processed via the translation management system are 100% traceable. The system takes care of versioning, automatic time recording and the construction of translation memories, keeps track of volumes and costs, and measures the quality of translations. In addition, project staff receive reports at relevant times throughout the process and can generate various reports.
